Waiver of Liability

This will be the waiver that everyone must agree to. If for any reason you do not agree to this waiver, we kindly ask that you do not attend this event.

Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World

Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from

person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state and local governments and federal and state

health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the

congregation of groups of people.

Now that we are fortunate enough to be in a position to resume competition, it is important to note

new policies with regard to the way competitions will be held. The Pittsburgh Feiseanna, Irish

Centre of Pittsburgh and volunteers have put in place preventive measures to reduce the spread of

COVID-19; however, they cannot guarantee that you will not become infected with COVID-19.

Further, participation in these Feiseanna could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.

Health and safety of all participants, attendees and volunteers is of paramount importance. Your

electronic signature/mark on this statement recognizes the following:

1. Travel to and from this competition poses a risk of possible exposure to illness, including

COVID-19. Although particular rules, precautions and personal discipline may reduce the risk,

the risk of serious illness and death does exist.

2. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks both known and unknown, even if arising from

the negligence of the providers or others and assume full responsibility for my and my minor

children’s participation.

3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated rules and COVID-19 Safety Plan as published.

4. I, for myself, and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin,

hereby agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Pittsburgh Feiseanna, Irish Centre of

Pittsburgh and all volunteers, other participants, contracted agencies and if applicable owners and

lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“providers”) with respect to any and all claims that

arise out of illnesses, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property whether arising

from the negligence of the provider or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

My mark online or on paper certifies that I, as parent/guardian, with legal responsibility for

this(these) participant(s), have read and explained the provisions of this waiver to my child/ward

including the risks of presence and participation and his/her personal responsibilities for adhering

to the rules and regulations for protection against communicable diseases. Furthermore, my

child/ward understands and accepts these risks and responsibilities. I for myself, my spouse, and

child/ward do consent and agree to his/her release provided above for all the providers and do

release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the providers for any and all liabilities incident

to my minor child’s/ward’s presence or participation in these activities as provided above, even if

arising from their negligence, to the fullest extent provided by law.
